First Non-Friend Etsy Sale

Just had to share my excitement....I've just had my first non-friend sale on Etsy, woo hoo! This necklace has been bought as a present so I'm going to wrap it up so it's extra special and am off to get supplies shortly!
I've also made some lovely new beads for my entry in the Oldham Art Gallery's craft exhibition in April, they're the funky flower design but in hot pink, turquoise, purple, black and white! These beads began yesterday as a way of using up some old clay and the results were quite unexpected! They'll be threaded onto some beautiful satin ribbon and I'm going to make the design quite intricate!
Well, I must be off now as I need to make my very lovely friend, Vicky from Sewabee a leopard print button, this will be my first attempt and am hoping everything goes to plan!
Check out http://www.sewabee.co.uk for some lovely hand sewn corsages, bags and much more!

Birthdays

Wow, what a great day Izzy had! We went to the pictures and watched Tangled which is actually pretty good and then home for a party, cake and games! She managed to get everything she wanted so was a very happy eight year old!
I've had a good week as far as creating goes and have made quite a few new ribbons and been including in some lovely Etsy treasuries yay! Am also really busy making for two up and coming craft fairs, one in the picturesque Uppermill and another in Levenshulme where there'll be some fantastic crafty stuff for sale!
My friend Vicky will also be exhibiting her lovely hand sewn products check out http://www.sewabee.co.uk if you haven't already!

Grim up North

Seeing as the weather’s been pretty ‘Grim up North’ for a change(!) my attention has shifted from looking forward to Summer with beautifully bright and funky pieces to the more sophisticated shades of grey and black.
So with a nod to the season, I’ve created a very chic ribbon weave necklace using my black and white polymer clay beads alternated with grey faux pearls – who knew the Manchester rain could be so inspirational?
Saying that, the sun is actually shining through the clouds today maybe I should go back to colourful pieces.

Also I’ve been included in a couple of exciting treasuries on Etsy – I REALLY must create one of my own, there’s so much exciting craft out there that needs to be showcased!

Treasury 28/1/11

Another fantastic treasury, the colours on this one are ace, I love it! I’m going to try to create my own treasury tonight and feature items from the Manchester team.
Can’t wait for the weekend to begin so I can start making my new beads; I’m going for another mosaic design using some beautiful colours and am hoping to use them for another zip necklace.
I really need to get my thinking cap on too as I’m entering a craft exhibition at Oldham Art Gallery and my pieces have to be in by April. Am thinking of a really intricate zip design statement necklace with matching bracelet hmmm how would a bracelet work intertwined on a zip I wonder…guess I’ll find out soon lol!
Happy Friday everyone x

Another Treasury 27/1/11
I've been included in another gorgeous treasury, this time of Crimson and Black finds, featuring my red and black ribbon necklace again! Thankyou Etsians!
I'm going to have a bit of a photo session soon to try to show exactly how the necklaces look when being worn; whether I'll be using a real life model or some kind of mannequin or a top on a hanger (which I've seen done and looks pretty effective - surprisingly) I've yet to decide but will defo update here first.
Oh, and the LaLaLoopsy doll arrived this morning....hooray!
New Designs 26/1/11
I've tried my hand at a zipper necklace and am quite liking the first attempt - I have some fantastically OTT designs springing up in my mind and cannot wait to try them out.
Admittedly I'm not the best seamstress the world has ever seen but I've discovered fabric glue which will hopefully work even better than my backstitch for ensuring a necklace design stays put!

I'll be creating and updating my Etsy shop with Zipper Necklaces as soon as I can...stay tuned! x
New Etsy Treasury (25/1/11)
Another really wild collection -going on safari!
I just need to share with you my excitement as I've just managed to find a LaLaLoopsy doll for Isabella's birthday woohoo! Unbelievable that they are sold out like everywhere but you can always pay 50 quid (double the rrp) if you're desperate! Luckily I found one at Argos; Blossom Flowerpot and bought it straight away...lucky me....lucky Izzie - hope she likes it x

Pictures...as promised! (23/1/11)

The possibilities are endless.....it's a neverending circle!

TFI Friday! (21/1/11)
It's been a very long week this week and I'm feeling really tired lol! Had fun making my new design ribbon necklace though, I've individually wrapped the beads with coloured ribbon before weaving them onto the usual two pieces of ribbon. The effect is quite stunning and now i've got all sorts of colourways and themes running through my head! Ooh it's all very exciting!
I'll upload some images over the weekend...see what you think!
Also, i can't wait for tomorrow; looking forward to a day out in Lincoln, bit of shopping, spot of lunch, walk the big hill to see the Cathedral, let's hope the weather stays fine! Hopefully, I'll find a lovely crafty shop for some extra special stuff for my new pieces
x

Etsy
My Etsy store is back up and running! I've refined my photography and Photoshop skills and think my images are pretty much on par now (it's took a while to perfect)! I'm really pleased with the way it looks and have even been included in a Treasury on only my second day - woohoo! I'm so happy that people are seeing my work and are liking what they see - I've got a happy, warm, fuzzy feeling inside x
Thinking of Summer!
I don't know about you but I'm getting a bit fed up with this cold, dreary weather so I'm fast forwarding to Summer with my jewellery! The bright colours and hues of my new peices are definitely cheering me up and I can't wait to show off some of my embellishment necklaces with a lovely vest top and skirt. Here comes the sun (fingers crossed)!!!
